So this is the new year...

Well,
I have been neglecting this poor blog for so long. It has languished in cyberspace (does anyone say that anymore), taking up space on someone's server and reserving a space for my ramblings. I have finally remembered my password (or google finally recognized that I existed) so I can update this blog.

I hope to actually post things here and put myself out into there in this world. I don't know what that means, or how this will come about but I shall put it on my list of resolutions for the year.

I typically resolve to make zero resolutions at New Years, but I have found that I have three this year. They are:
  1. To learn to knit. When I was 8 years old I resolved to learn to crochet. My mom didn't know how to help me, and I ended up teaching myself out of a needlecraft book from 1959. I learned double crochet and chain, and not how to read patterns or any other stitches. Flash forward to 2007. I had become an avid swapper on craftster.org and was inspired to learn to actually crochet. It has been downhill from there. From my presence on webfora I have found that there are two types of fiber enthusiasts. Knitters and crocheters and apparently never the twain should meet. I have found that there are limitations to crochet in that unless you use really tiny yarn, then your object is very thick and bulky (not a good knitwear look for anyone who is plus sized). Therefore I am going to learn to knit this year.
  2. I have joined a group on Ravelry that endeavors to read 52 books in 52 weeks. I don't know that this will be a feat for me, but I have never actually kept track.
  3. Now apparently I am going to blog at least more than once a year.
We'll see if I can accomplish these in the next year, or if they will go the way of all resolutions and I will have quit them by March.
